Local Matters Selected by Latvian Telephone Company to Provide Enhanced Directory Assistance Local Search Solution
DENVER, Colo., July 5, 2006 - Local Matters, Inc., a provider of software and media services that enable Yellow Pages publishers and Directory Assistance service providers to expand their traditional service offerings, today announced that the Latvian Telephone Company, Lattelecom, has upgraded to the latest version of the Local Matters´ FlexiQ™ platform, including the FlexiSearch™ and FlexiStation™ products.
As the number one provider of directory assistance services in Latvia, Lattelecom sought to support its increased call volume while having the ability to deliver enhanced services, such as driving directions, traffic conditions and maps through directory assistance.
With this upgrade, Lattelecom received increased content capacity which allowed the company to store and offer more content in response to increasing call volume. The FlexiQ platform also allowed Lattelecom to incorporate their new advertising model into the system and take advantage of this new premium placement model when responding to customer calls.
The latest version of the FlexiQ platform provided Lattelecom operators with greater integration with location based services like mapping, which enabled the company to provide innovative new search options based on geographic coordinates and improved yellow pages searches based on business categories. Lattelecom is now providing customers with local content through operator services or through a Short Message Service (SMS) text message to a mobile device.
