Guidespot.com: A New Foundation of Local Online Self-Expression
DENVER, Colo., March 19, 2008 – Local Matters announces Guidespot.com, a user-friendly multi-media publishing platform for producing user-generated local guides. Guidespot users can broadcast themselves through the text, photos, business listing reviews, videos, links and maps they incorporate on a guide, as well as connect with other authors.

Local and national attractions and business listings, which include address and mapping capabilities, encourage user-generated lists and multi-media stories, facilitating the creation of a new foundation of local self-expression and knowledge sharing. Currently in beta, each guide created can be shared, receive comments and be rated by fellow users of Guidespot, supporting a dynamic and growing base of local knowledge and as well as an interactive social community.

“Guidespot.com represents a key step in our plan to incorporate social media into the local search landscape. We're connecting consumers, and blending this with content from many media partners into a new collaborative local social network. We think this new tool for localized consumer publishing creates an exciting new building block in the local-social media market," said Perry Evans, CEO of Local Matters.
