The Local Matters Engineering team is a unique collection of some of the best and brightest engineers in the Denver area. We are constantly experimenting with cutting-edge technologies and inventing powerful and elegant UI code architectures, tools, and techniques. Whether it's developing our homegrown interactive JavaScript mapping library, rolling out products using HTML5, or creating mobile-optimized sites using CSS3 features, we're always pushing the envelope.

Required skills:

  • Total mastery of standard HTML and CSS
  • A strong working knowledge of JavaScript and at least one of the prevalent JS libraries (YUI, jQuery, etc.)
  • Preferably a strong knowledge of object-oriented JavaScript concepts and patterns
  • The ability to bend IE to your very whim
  • Some experience with mixed-markup templating languages (JSP/JSTL, PHP, ASP, etc.)
  • Attention to detail in everything you do
  • Ability to work independently and also contribute to a team
  • An expert in that special balance of wanting to do it the “right way” with the need to “get it done”
